When you purchase, or are unknowingly supplied recycled waste wood mulches and pulverized waste wood topsoil from other supply yards, you should be aware of what you are being sold for use around your home or place of business. Some of these facilities are paid to accept & dispose of assorted and mixed wood waste & debris from demolition contractors, municipalities and landscapers. It is then dumped and stored at these facilities, which it is then ground up and pulverized. They then re-sell this ground up and pulverized waste to you as mulch and topsoil. Do they inspect and test the entire contents of each load of waste they accept for all the possible contaminants it could contain? Why chance it! Unlike the materials you are sold from other supply yards, you will never find or have any of the following in the products we supply you:
Nails & Staples, Broken Glass, Sewer Sludge, Termites and their Larvae, Construction Wood & Stump Waste, Municipal Leaf Waste, Creosote, Street Sweepings, Lead, Roof Shingles, Plywood & Pressure Treated Wood from Demolished Homes & Buildings.

HERE ARE 4 TIPS ON BUYING SCREENED TOPSOIL & MULCHES SO YOU DON'T "WASTE" YOUR MONEY, TIME AND EFFORT.

  1. Ask if you can visit their facility and see the material that is being screened, as well as the finished screened topsoil. If you have to purchase material over the phone without seeing it, ask if they will provide you a MONEY BACK GUARANTEE after it is delivered and dumped out of the truck at your home or business. Also if they only accept cash payment, and do not accept credit cards or checks, the chances are that the materials they supply are poor quality.

  2. Ask what size screens are being used to screen the topsoil. If the screen size is over 1/2 inch, you will encounter a tremendous amount of rock, stone and root matter on your lawn. The labor of raking and shoveling the debris out of the soil is tremendous. Remember the smaller the screen size used to process the topsoil will result in cleaner topsoil and less work for you. Also know the term "Double Screened Topsoil" is nothing but a gimmick and sales tactic, and if the soil really had to be "double screened," it must have been very poor quality to begin with, and you wouldn't want to use it.

3. Another thing to watch out for is fixed price quotes per load. Some supply yards advertise, "$225.00 per load," what they fail to tell you, in some cases, is that their "LOAD" is only 14 yards of material, because that's all the truck has the capacity to hold. Make sure the amount of material promised is in the truck and on the receipt. If your job comes up short of material, after spreading what was delivered, then this most likely has occurred to you. Know that we sell some materials by the ton on our Certified Public Weigh Scale, it's exact and you're never over-charged or shorted material, unlike other supply yards that sell you material by the ton and don't even have a scale! And for materials we sell by the yard we measure it with a loader equipped with an exact one yard bucket, so if you order two yards you get two scoops and the exact amount you purchased! Also know our trucks have the capacity to haul up to 25 yards/27 tons in one full load.

 4. Be very skeptical of supply yards that constantly advertise "SALES" "BARGAINS" or "SPECIALS" for Screened Topsoil. Quality Farm Screened Topsoil costs a little more to produce and supply, but know you will achieve the results you desire and expect with the least amount of time, money and effort.

If your homes or business landscape is professionally maintained, be sure to insist on our products, otherwise "IT'S A WASTE."
